Cathay Pacific commande 12 Boeing 777

Cathay Pacific Airways a annoncé aujourd'hui un important investissement pour moderniser et développer sa flotte. La compagnie de Hong Kong a en effet passé commande pour quatre Boeing 777-300ER et huit Boeing 777-200F cargo.

Les avions, propulsés par des moteurs General Electric GE90, devraient être livrés à la compagnie entre 2013 et 2016. La compagnie exploite déjà 22 Boeing 777-300ER sur ses liaisons long-courriers et en recevra 28 nouveaux (cette dernière commande comprise) d'ici à 2015. La compagnie prévoit ainsi de retirer de sa flotte 21 Boeing 747-400 et 13 Airbus A340-300 avant la fin de la décennie.

Concernant les Boeing 777-200F, il s'agira d'un nouveau type d'avion cargo pour Cathay Pacific. Ils seront utilisées pour développer la flotte cargo et remplacer les plus vieux Boeing 747F.

Aujourd'hui, Cathay Pacific dispose d'un carnet de commande composé de 28 Boeing 777-300ER, 19 Airbus A330, 32 Airbus A350-900, 10 Boeing 747-8F et huit Boeing 777-200F.
