Hartsfield-Jackson First Airport to Serve 100 Million Passengers in a Single Year

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and Airport General Manager available for satellite tour to discuss record-setting event and announce date of passenger arrival

ATLANTA – Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) will soon become the first airport ever to serve 100 million passengers in a single year. On Tuesday, December 22nd, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed will join ATL General Manager Miguel Southwell to discuss the historic aviation milestone and announce the date that the 100-millionth passenger will arrive.

From 0630 EST to 0830 EST Mayor Reed and Mr. Southwell will be available via satellite to answer questions about the significance of the event. Stations interested in booking a live interview must respond to media@atlanta-airport.com for details (please include “ATL 100 million passenger interview” in the email’s subject line). Airport Communications Department officials will coordinate interview requests and will provide satellite information and coordinates for interested stations/programs.
