Statistiques 2010 Aéroport de Bruxelles
Re: Statistiques 2010
In summer 2010 the Brussels Airport long haul network will be larger than it ever was in the past. The previous most successful season was the summer of 2000 with 155 weekly long haul flights, supported by the large long haul fleet of Sabena.
In 2010 Brussels Airport hosts a record number of 166 weekly long haul departures,
A comparison by continent shows that
- North America is still slightly behind (88, versus 93 in 2000),
- Asia is significantly larger (34, versus 11 in 2000),
- Sub-Sahara Africa is almost equal (35, versus 36 in 2000), - long haul leisure flights are still less developed (9, versus 15 in 2000).
Several new medium-haul destinations have been announced for the summer as well: Icelandair to Reykjavik, Middle East Airlines to Beirut

Re: Statistiques 2010
Brussels Airport: 1.9 million passengers in July
Passengers
In July Brussels Airport handled 1.9 million passengers, up 2% on the same month last year. Growth is undeniably recovering but originating passenger numbers are still under pressure from competing airports. Transfer and long-haul traffic recorded substantial growth (+20%). In the intra-European segment business traffic in particular is back to full speed.
The Belgian leisure market – that contrary to most other European airports held strong last year – records similar results to last year’s.
Cargo
Although the summer holidays are never the busiest period for cargo traffic, cargo recorded a growth of 14% on July 2009. The full-freighter segment grew by 16%; cargo carried on board passenger aircraft grew by no less than 36%.
Aircraft movements
The number of aircraft movements totalled to 20,772 down a mere 0.5% on pcp, indicating that the decline is steadily growing smaller
