Uruguay’s PLUNA on the evening of 05JUL12 (local time) announced ceasing operation (although it claims “suspended indefinitely”) after the Government has failed to find new investors, starting 1500GMT on Friday 06JUL12. The Government is reportedly to liquidate the carrier and will start a new carrier as successor. PLUNA was founded in 1936.
