UAE's Air Arabia says buys 49 percent of Jordan's Petra Airlines

DUBAI (Reuters) - Air Arabia AIRA.DU has bought a 49 percent stake in Jordan's Petra Airlines, the United Arab Emirates-based carrier said on Monday.

Petra Airlines will be rebranded as Air Arabia Jordan and the UAE carrier will establish a hub at Amman's Queen Alia International Airport, with operations to commence under the new name in the first quarter, according to a statement to Dubai's bourse.

Petra Airlines' main shareholder, RUM Group RUMM.AM, will maintain a 51 per cent stake in the airline.

AirArabia Jordan devrait se cantonner dans la région MO/Golfe/Arabie Saoudite , visiblement pas de projets Jordanie / Europe pour le moment

Tout arrive ! 1er vol 18 mai
2 machines basées a AMN et pour commencer des destinations "locales" Kuwait City, Jeddah, Erbil, Sharm El Sheikh

Air Arabia’s Jordanian unit sticks to charter flights

UAE carrier suspended scheduled services at start of November over traffic rights row with Jordanian authorities

Dubai: Air Arabia’s Jordanian subsidiary has been operating as a charter airline since the start of the month after suspending its scheduled services over a traffic rights row in the country, its chief executive said on Tuesday.

Air Arabia is locked in a traffic rights dispute with Jordanian authorities due to its subsidiary Air Arabia Jordan unable to get permission to launch new flights from the country.
