El Salvador’s planned LCC, Veca, obtains $14mln in funding

Veca - Vuelos Económicos Centroamericanos (San Salvador Int'l) is a planned new El Salvadorean LCC backed up by the country's local petroleum outfit, Alba Petróleos de El Salvador, to the tune of USD14million. While no exact business plans have been divulged, it is understood that the carrier will focus on providing budget air services throughout Central America using leased aircraft. VECA is understood to have so far conformed to 60% of the requirements laid down by El Salvador's aviation regulator, Autoridad de Aviación Civil (ACC), with a 2014-launch on the cards.
