JetBlue Airways (New York) and Qatar Airways (Doha) today announced a one-way codeshare agreement to connect the carriers’ networks via New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport, subject to receipt of government approval.

The two airlines have been interline partners since 2011, enabling customers to enjoy the convenience of a single combined ticket for Qatar and JetBlue-operated flights, plus other benefits including one-stop check-in and baggage transfer.

Avril ...toujours rien ! mm si la rumeur d'une annonce "Europe" pour Jet Blue est a nouveau dans l'air
... surprenant que les grandes du low cot US ne soient pas encore sur le trafic transatlantique, mm si les marchés domestique US font le job ... a moins que ... face au majors et l'effet hubs le résultat ne soit pas si évident que ça (voir les déboires de Norwegian), il n'y a qu'a regarder ce que font, ou vont faire IAG / LH group dans ce domaine ! mm AF semble l'avoir compris avec Joon que l'on retrouve aussi avec du préa AF / HOP.

La finalité ne passe t elle pas +/- obligatoirement, pour les low cost US, par des accords de feeding avec une low cost européenne ? ou en racheter une ! sachant que si une low cost US arrive en Europe la probabilité que ce soit sur le Royaume Uni est énorme !

So will JetBlue really expand to Europe?

Geraghty: Someday JetBlue will be in Europe. How about that? Europe is very interesting. We currently don’t have an aircraft that can make it there. There would need to be an aircraft decision. We’ve publicly stated the Airbus 321LR looks interesting. We’ve studied it and we continue to study it. We know that out of Boston there’s a number of really interesting markets we’d like to fly to in Europe, the same in New York.

We also think that the premium market in Europe is interesting — a market that’s potentially ripe for some disruption. But we have not made any decisions as to whether or not we are going to go there, let alone a timeline if we decided to. But someday, JetBlue is going to fly to Europe.
